How to report abuse of adults in Leeds
If abuse is happening to you or someone else, or if you think it is happening, please report it as soon as possible. There are people who can help. You can tell Leeds City Council Adult Social Care. If you can’t report abuse yourself, ask someone you trust to help you.
Family members, relatives, friends and neighbours all have an important part to play in keeping people safe. If you are concerned about someone, please don't keep it to yourself. Report it as soon as possible. You don’t have to give your details, and you won’t be in trouble if you are wrong.

- Options if you have difficulty hearing or speaking
- Get an interpreter or translator to help you communicate with Adult Social Care

What happens when you report abuse?
- You will always be listened to.
- All concerns are taken seriously.
- They will ask you some questions to help them know if it is a safeguarding matter.
- If it is a safeguarding matter, and it is happening to you, they will ask you what you want to happen.
- If it isn’t a safeguarding issue they will still listen to you and help you.
- Where possible they will work with you to achieve the things you want.
- They might need to agree a plan to help you, based on your situation, the risks and what help you want. Your views will be important to any plans made.
