It is never ok when someone hurts you, injures you, or wrongly stops you doing things. People should not:

•    hit, punch or slap you
•    kick you
•    pinch, scratch or bite you
•    grab you or push you
•    hold you down
•    tie you to something, like a bed, chair, or wheelchair
•    be rough when they lift you, clean you, or when they help you move around
•    pull your hair
•    burn you with something hot, like a cigarette or an iron
•    scald you with hot liquid
•    force things into your mouth
•    do things to make you feel uncomfortable, too hot or too cold
•    give you medication you don’t need, to make you sleepy or confused
•    hide things so you can’t use them, like a walking stick, false teeth or hearing aid
•    punish you by locking you in a room

Someone like a relative or a carer might make you ill on purpose, so that they get attention from other people. This is known as a fabricated illness, and it is wrong. People should never make you ill on purpose.
